The United States Mint was the 34th coin in the “50 States of Quarters” series, which existed from 1999 to 2008. The coin program was one of the most popular the Mint ever created, and the Kansas quarters were the most valuable. Despite having a face value of US$ 0.25, these coins can be worth up to US$ 100 on resale.
There are three error coins that will be worth much more than the face value of the 25 cent coin. The first is the “Spitting Bison”, which was released in 2005 and features a coin break that makes the bison appear to spit saliva. The second is a 25-cent coin that says “IN GOD WE RUST” instead of “TRUST,” and the third is a “Humpback Bison” with a knot caused by the broken coinage on its back.
