Steiff is known for making high-quality toys and valuable collectibles, and is most famous for its bears. That's because Steiff actually invented the stuffed bear in 1902. Founded by Margarete Steiff in the late 1800s, the company has since patented over sixteen thousand different stuffed animal designs.
The Steiff “Diamond Eyes” bears are super limited editions. Only 125 of these deluxe bears were produced in 2008. They had a golden nose and mouth, fur made of golden thread, and eyes composed of brilliant sapphires and diamonds. At the time, they cost US $ 35,000. Now, that price has jumped to almost US $ 200,000.
