Boxer Muhammad Ali was one of the most famous of all time. Collectibles owned by or linked to Ali have fetched a lot of money, and some of the most expensive items are gloves. Two gloves were sold for US$385,000 each in 2012. One of them Ali wore in a fight against Sonny Liston, while the other was present in his defeat to Joe Frazier.
However, that was nothing compared to the US$1.1 million that UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta paid for a pair of gloves that the famous boxer used in 1965 against Floyd Patterson. Fertitta purchased the gloves for Ali's 70th birthday celebration, although he had an unusual request when purchasing them. To finalize the sale, Fertitta demanded that Bob Arum, his rival promoter, admit that he “loved the UFC.”
