The Ozarks span five states, including Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri. Most of the Ozarks are in northern Arkansas and southern Missouri. For a time, the Ozarks were one of the most popular tourist destinations in the US.
The tourist pottery collection on the side of the Ozark Highway is a collection of cement pottery made by the Ozark Pottery Company. Pottery was sold during the 1930s and 1950s, when souvenir, craft, and novelty shops were a common feature of Ozark tourism in the automobile age. Today, these ceramic pieces can be purchased for $800 or more if they are authentic from OPC.
