Yo-yo quilts are made from rounded pieces of fabric that have long stitches on the outer edges. The stitches are pulled together, gathering the circles of fabric into small rosettes. Then the rosettes are attached to form a quilt. Yo-yo quilts are often handmade by talented quilters and can sell for around $120 on eBay.
There is a vintage yo-yo quilt from the 1940s for sale for US $ 100, for example. The overall look of the quilts is vintage, as it moves away from the patchwork that everyone is used to. The labor-intensive nature of making this quilt is what makes it so expensive.
