The 'Inverted Jenny', also called the 'Upside Down Jenny' or 'Upside Down Jenny', is a 24-cent stamp from the United States Postal Service. It was issued in 1918 and features an image of a Curtiss JN-4 airplane. The plane was printed by mistake – it is upside down. The overturned 'Jenny' plane is one of the most famous mistakes in the history of American philately.
Only one of the hundred panels of Jenny Inverts has been found, so the stamp is highly prized for its rarity. In 2007, a Jenny Invert sold for US $ 977,500. More recently, in 2018, a Jenny Invert sold for US $ 1,593,000 (including buyer's premium of US $ 243,000).
