Babe Ruth was, and still is, one of the most famous baseball players of all time. The slugger played for twenty-two years in the MLB, starting in 1914. He hit 714 home runs throughout his career, which was mostly spent with the Yankees. Ruth inspired comics, action figures and loads of other souvenirs.

One figure, made by McFarlane, sold at auction on eBay for around US$$13,600 (US$14,000, including buyer's premium). However, not all McFarlane action figures could command that price. The big seller at auction is the rare McFarlane figure of Babe Ruth wearing a blue hat. McFarlane only made five of those.
